A new Mycenaean palace in Laconia

Friday, January 17, 2014

Adamantia Vassilogambrou (5th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, Greece) presents “A new Mycenaean palace in Laconia: Excavations at Agios Vasileios,” in the framework of the New York Aegean Bronze Age Colloquium at the Institute of Fine Arts of the New York University.

Open to the public.

The New York Aegean Bronze Age Colloquium, founded in 1974, is celebrating its 39th year at the IFA. The Colloquium is internationally recognized as a premier venue for presenting new discoveries and ideas in Aegean Bronze Age and related Eastern Mediterranean prehistory and art. Distinguished scholars from abroad present about half of the papers in a typical academic year. Students of the Institute of Fine Arts are invited to attend these meetings and participate in the discussions. Doctoral candidates have presented papers describing their doctoral research and received comments and advice from scholars of international renown.
