Speaker: Phillip Stockhammer (Heidelberg)

Dr. Philipp W. Stockhammer will speak about the appropriation of Aegean pottery in the Southern Levant (Israel, Lebanon) in the Late Bronze Age between 1400 and 1100 BC. He examines why the people in the Southern Levant acquired this pottery and how they used the vessels.

Dr. Philipp W. Stockhammer is Postdoctoral Researcher in project D2 “Materiality and Practice” of the Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context”. Besides, he is affiliated with the Institute of Pre- and Protohistory at Heidelberg University.
