A metrological relief in Salamis

To the well-known and so far unique metrological relief of Oxford in the Ashmolean Museum a similar one has been added found in 1985 on the island of Salamis. After studying this relief we have concluded that first, it must be dated after the introduction of the later measurement of the foot, equal to 0.301 m, that was in use since the time of Alexander the Great, and secondly, that the Doric foot remains in use at least till the third quarter of the fourth century BC.
