The itinerary presented in this article is the first publication of material collected during the years 1988-1991 in the framework of a research programme of the Athens Polytechnic having as its final objective the publication of full documentation of the Post-Byzantine and later eccestiastical monuments of Greece. Professor Ch. Bouras was responsible for coordinating this collective effort. The time span of the research was limited to the period between 1453 and 1830 and the subject was defined in the full documentation of the architectural physiognomy of the ecclesiastical monuments with no reference whatsoever to their painting. The presentation of ecclesiastical edifices will be confined in this article to the ones located in the region of Locrida and Phthiotida.
