The contribution of comics to the teaching of history

Comics are included as a source of knowledge and information on the history of mankind along with movies and certain television series, in the visual mass media that are addressed to children. A great number of comics are published, in Greece as well as abroad, where the majority comes from, where the various periods of antiquity are used as a background for their heroes’ deeds and activities. Although these comics undoubtedly offer to children a knowledge of history, their character, reliability and quality is worth looking into.
