Scholarships in Greek Archaeology for 2013/14 by the Greek Archaeological Committee UK.

The Matti Egon Scholarship

The Matti Egon Scholarship in memory of her Mother, Stamatia M. Xylas

The Leventis Foundation Scholarship in memory of Dino Leventis

The Hadjipateras Family Scholarship in memory of Nicolas & Irene Hadjipateras

Applications for the above scholarships for postgraduate studies in Greek Archaeology in the United Kingdom are invited, limited to candidates of Hellenic ethnicity (Greek and Greek-Cypriot) who hold either a first degree with First Class classification (or equivalent), or a postgraduate degree with Distinction from any reputable university.

Successful applicants, recipients of a scholarship, will be required either to have a firm offer of acceptance from their prospective university or to be already enrolled as full-time postgraduate students in Greek Archaeology at a university in the United Kingdom.

The scholarships are intended to cover the cost of tuition fees and, under certain circumstances, to supplement living expenses. Successful applicants who have no fee obligations may receive part of or a whole scholarship towards costs relevant to their research and living expenses. Regular progress reports on the academic work of the recipients of scholarships will be required. If recipients wish for a renewal of the grant of a scholarship for the following academic session, they will be required to re-apply submitting a detailed report on the progress of their studies and research to date, together with a letter of support from their academic supervisor.

In granting a scholarship, the Executive Committee of the GACUK will take into consideration any other scholarships, bursaries or financial aid packages already granted to the applicant.

The decision of the Executive Committee of the GACUK is final.
