We would like to inform you that the submission of papers is now open for the II International workshop on Gender Studies in Ancient Egypt and Near East, to be held in hybrid format at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), from 17th
to 19th February 2027.
The call for papers is extended to both students (holding at least a MA degree) and young researchers (PhD candidates and Postdoctoral) who express an interest in applying the
perspectives and methodologies advanced by gender studies within the fields of the ancient Near East and Egypt.
Participants are encouraged to use a diverse array of available sources, including art, texts, and archaeology.
Submissions encompassing a wide spectrum of topics, raging from analysis of specific cases to theoretical discussions, are welcomed.
The workshop is scheduled to take place in a hybrid format from the 17th to 19th of February 2027. The on-site format will be hosted at the Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres,
Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Biblioteca Francesca Bonnemaison in Barcelona.
Presentations are expected to be conducted in Spanish, English or Catalan. Each participant is allocated a total presentation time of 20 minutes, and 10 extra minutes for questions. Participation and attendance are free of charge.

How to participate:
We kindly request interested parties to submit an abstract (300 words max.), a title, and 4-5 keywords along with their name and affiliation (if applicable). Additionally, participants are asked to indicate their preference for either online or on-site participation.
