Hippos – The Horse in Ancient Athens (3rd lecture)

Discover the fascinating world of horses in ancient Athens through six lectures presented by Mario Iozzo, Director of the National Archaeological Museum of Florence, and scholars affiliated with the American School: Glenn R. Bugh, Judy Barringer, Carolyn Willekes, Carol Mattusch, and Mary Ann Eaverly. This hybrid lecture series will take place during the American School of Classical Studies at Athens‘ new art and science exhibition, Hippos: The Horse in Ancient Athens, which will be on view from January 20, 2022, through April 30, 2022, in the Makriyannis Wing of the Gennadius Library.

All lectures, presented by the American School of Classical Studies, will take place in Cotsen Hall on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. EET (Greece)/12:00 p.m. EST (U.S.) and will also be livestreamed via Zoom and the School’s websiteFacebook page, and YouTube channel.
