David Scahill (PHD Architect, ASCSA) will address the topic “The development of Monumental Doric Architecture in the Archaic period: Craftsmen and the Transmission of Design Technologies.”
This talk explores the development and transmission of the Doric Order in the early sixth century BC, focusing on the role of craftsmen, technologies, especially in the Corinthia, and the transition in traditions from wood to stone.
The lecture will be held in English and is part of a lecture series of the Laboratory of Research in the History of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens.
