Dr Stavros Vlizos (Ionian University & Amykles Research Project) on “Beyond the borders: The Amyklaion and its vicinities”.
Summary of talk
The aim of the research presented in this talk is to investigate the issues concerning the infrastructure of the sanctuary of Apollo Amyklaios in Sparta, its spaces, as well as its functional communication with the environment immediately adjacent to it and surrounding it. Apart from the archaeological data, reference will also be made to the new methods of subsurface investigation with the tools of geophysics.
