Lecture by Cyprian Broodbank, the author of the recently published The Making of the Middle Sea: A History of the Mediterranean from the Beginning to the emergence of the Classical World, who has recently been elected John Disney Professor of Archaeology and Director of the McDonald Institute at Cambridge University. The recent publication of Professor Broodbank’s book adds further dimension to regional studies of the Mediterranean past, taking the story back to its beginnings and considering the African shore in detail as well as more widely studied regions.
An informal reception will follow.
