Unveiling Dendera’s Pharaonic Past

Tuesday, October 21, 2025

The cycle of conferences within the frame of “Pisa 1825–26 and the Origins of Modern Egyptology” will finish with the following lecture: “Unveiling Dendera’s Pharaonic Past:
New Insights from the Cemetery” by Prof. Yann Tristant.

The event will take place at the University of Pisa (Gipsoteca di Arte Antica) on October 21, 2025, from 16:00 to 16:45, and will also be available via live streaming on the Microsoft Teams platform: https://bit.ly/4351UFM (no registration required).

In this lecture, Prof. Tristant from the KU Leuven will present the research project which aims to study the Dendera necropolis, through its spatial and chronological development, with the purpose of understanding the social and cultural transformations of the Dendera
population during the very long period of occupation of the site.
