Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Classics at Penn State

The Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (CAMS) of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure-line track) in Classics for the 2022–2023 academic year. This is a limited-term, 36-week appointment (two academic semesters), to begin August 15, 2022. Responsibilities will include teaching six courses (three per semester), including some or all of the following: CAMS 25 Greek Civilization, CAMS 33 Roman Civilization, CAMS 45 Classical Mythology, Latin 203 Latin Reading and Composition. The successful candidate will be expected to promote and advance the department’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in relevant area at time of appointment, appropriate teaching experience, and evidence of high quality of teaching. Ph.D. preferred. Rank will be determined based on education and qualifications.
