“A LH IIIC Settlement in the Later Sanctuary of Poseidon on Kalaureia (Poros)”

Remains from a small Late Helladic IIIC settlement excavated inside the later sanctuary of Poseidon on Kalaureia (Poros) are presented. It was located in and around the later temple area and only limited architectural remains are preserved just above bedrock to the west of the Archaic peribolos wall. The finds reflect a small-scale habitat occupied only for a few generations in LH IIIC Early after which it was peacefully abandoned. The inhabitant appears to have been dependent on live-stock breeding and agriculture and some metal finds in bronze and gold suggest some affluence.
