“From the Center to the Periphery: The Early Helladic habitation in the Southern Argolid” Lecture given (in Greek) by Angeliki Kossyva (4th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities), as part of the Aegean Lecture series / autumn 2014.
Habitation and funerary evidence, recently investigated in the wider area of Koilada and Kranidi in the region of Ermioni, Peloponnese, indicate the presence of extended Early Bronze Age settlements. These sites owning their development to dedicated activities are not isolated but in communication with both nearby and more distant sites. The recently emerged archaeological evidence contributes to the expansion of our knowledge on the formation of EH coastal communities and their related social organization.
The Aegean Lectures are organised by Aegeus – Society for Aegean Prehistory, in collaboration with the Swedish Institute at Athens.
