Colloquium in honour of Professor John North

15th November 2013

The Department of History, University College London, in partnership with UCL Grand Challenges, will be holding a colloquium in honour of Professor John North.

To mark both a lifetime of service to UCL and his contribution to the study of history, and in particular to the study of ancient religions, the colloquium will focus on the interplay between anthropology and history and on the relationships between ancient history, later historical periods and the contemporary world, relationships that have always been distinctive features of John North’s research and teaching, and indeed of every aspect of his career. Speakers will include Isabella Sandwell (Bristol), John Scheid (Collège de France), and Wendy Davies and Michael Crawford (UCL).

All are welcome. There will be no conference fee.
