A panel discussion open to the public exploring family law in ancient Greece, Rome and Mesopotamia.

Chairman: The Rt. Hon. Lord Wilson of Culworth (Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom)

Panel members: Sophie Démare-Lafont (Paris), Paul du Plessis (Edinburgh), Yifat Monnickendam (Jerusalem), Chris Carey (UCL).

Across the ancient world the law intervened in family life, to protect or to control. This panel discussion, involving experts in law in different civilizations with the opportunity for questions from the audience, will be chaired by a distinguished modern legal expert, Lord Wilson of Culworth.

The discussion will be followed by a wine reception.
