The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki inaugurates the temporary exhibition titled “From South to North: Cycladic colonies in the northern Aegean”. The exhibition’s opening will be held on Friday, 12th July 2019, at 9.00 p.m.

The temporary exhibition “From South to North: Cycladic colonies in the northern Aegean” attempts to narrate one of many pages that make up the fascinating history of Greek colonization. A history that permeates many aspects of ancient Greek culture: trade and the economy, political changes and social transformations, cults and burial customs, and myths that were created around the idea of ​​the sea adventure and the ideal search place of heroic people who are not afraid to confront the impossible and to win.

The exhibition will be held by the General Director of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Mr. Polyxeni Adam – Veleni.
