George Zongolopoulos. Exhibition of numbered sculptures and jewelry

The „George Zongolopoulos Foundation’ in collaboration with Zoumboulakis Galleries present genuine numbered reproductions of original sculptures and jewelry – miniatures of G. Zongolopoulos’ original works.
The exhibition will be accompanied by G. Zongolopoulos’ original sculptures and paintings.
Brief Curriculum Vitae: George Zongolopoulos was born in Athens in 1903. He studied sculpture in the Athens School of Fine Arts with T. Thomopoulos (1924-1930). In 1937 he travels to Paris where he studies and familiarizes himself with the work of Ch. Despiau. He studies works of Romanesque, Gothic and contemporary sculpture. He represented Greece at the Venice Biennale (1940, 1956, 1964, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001), at the Cairo Biennale (1946) and at the Sao Paulo Biennale (1957). In February 2004 he established the public welfare “George Zongolopoulos Foundation” located in his home-atelier. He died on 11th May of the same year.
