The new Diachronic Museum stores the history and Archaeology of Larissa and its surrounding areas
The IE Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities and the 7th Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities are behind the joined project of the Diachronic Museum of Larissa, a Museum setting on display a series of monuments describing a time-period of over 3000 years.
Situated in a modern building, the Diachronic Museum will include five workshops (mosaics, icons/frescoes, sculpture, metalwork and ceramics/pottery), storage area as well as a 2.000 square meters –wide exhibition area. The plan is to facilitate conservation work by using the storage for restored monuments, some of which will be eventually part of the exhibit.
The Museum will be ready to open its gates during 2013.
