The Research Unit EA 3094 “Religious Rhetorics of Antiquity Analysis Centre” (CARRA) seek to offer a research position, leading to a Doctoral thesis (in French or English), on studying aspects on translation of ancient Greek and Latin texts into modern European languages during the period of Humanism. Research involves the construction of a database for documentary resources in relation to the translation procedure (in print and electronically).

Contract duration: 1st October 2013 – 30th September 2016

Salary: 1,500 Euros per month, with one social security service.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Classical Philology, have a solid knowledge of classical philology and a competence in French.

Good knowledge of most -or all- principal philological languages (German, English, Spanish, Greek, Italian) and advanced computing skills will be appreciated.
