The conference “Stabilities and Instabilities in the Hellenistic World” will be held on  17–18 November 2022 online and at the Lampeter Campus of the University of Wales, Trinity St David.

Abstracts from postgraduates, postdocs and early-career academics working in any discipline related to ancient history, classics and Egyptology are welcomed. Papers should be 20 minutes long, with around 5 minutes for questions and discussion. This is a wonderful opportunity for postgraduate students to present their research in a friendly and supportive environment. The keynote lecture will be given by Paul Kosmin (Harvard University), and we hope to publish the proceedings as an edited volume.

Please submit abstracts (approx. 200–400 words), or let us know if you would be interested in taking part by writing, to Maria Lord at: [email protected].

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

The deadline for abstract submissions is 31 August 2022.

We are looking for submissions on the following themes:

-Chronologies
-Polities
-Revolts
-Identities
-Hybridity

The conference will be held in hybrid format and although we hope many of you will be able to attend in person, it will also be possible to deliver presentations online.
