“Beyond Macedonia: the multifaceted Hellenistic Oikoumene reconsidered” is an international scientific conference to be held at the New Museum of Aigai.
The conference is organized by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Imathia with the cooperation and assistance of leading experts and scholars from the world’s most important universities and research institutes. Sixty renowned researchers will present fifty-six papers summing up their research on issues such as the economy, the architecture and the landscaping, the evolution of artistic and cultural trends, but also the presentation of syntheses of excavations and findings in the vast Hellenistic world, from Pakistan to the western Mediterranean.
The conference is held under the framework of the project “Polycentric Museum of Aigai – Central Museum Building – Phase B” funded by the Operational Project: “Central Macedonia 2014-2020” (European Regional Development Fund) and from National Resources through the Public Investment Program.
