Lecture at the DAI Athens by Prof. Dr. Turgut Saner (Istanbul) about the site of Larisa, Asia Minor, entitled “Stadt- und Bauforschung in Larisa am Hermos (2010-2014)”.
The site known as Larisa (on the river of Hermos – today Hediz) is located in western Asia Minor within the boundaries of the ancient region called Aeolis. The excavations held on the acropolis in 1902 and in 1932-1934 conducted by Swedish-German archaeologists brought to light monumental buildings dating back to the span of time between sixth and fourth centuries BC.
