The aim of the proposed lecture is to shed light into the ideological, disciplinary and display strategies though which the ‘Exhibition of the Monuments of the Holy Struggle’, hosted in the National Historical Museum of Athens in 1884, contributed to the building and reinforcement of national identity in late 19th century Greece.
