Tears of Iron: Olympias after the Death of Alexander the Great is the title of the lecture by Robin Waterfield for the Department of Philology at the University of Patras, Greece.
In “Tears of Iron”, the speaker uses Olympias as a focus to demonstrate the nature and violence of the years immediately following the death of her son Alexander the Great in June 323. Unusually for a woman at the time, she was at the center of events and was as ruthless and murderous as any of her male colleagues.
The lecture is scheduled for Thursday, the 30th of March 2023 6.00 p.m. (Greek time) and it is held via Zoom (Passcode: 978227). To attend, click here.
