The iconographic data from the sphragistic surfaces of seals and seal impressions, combined with context data and evidence of use, reflect part of the control mechanism for the organization of the administrative system of Protopalatial centres in Minoan Crete. Using this information, an attempt is made to get close to understanding the processes and parameters that govern the function of the “sphragidocratic” mechanism, as an administrative tool for tracking and regulation during this period.
The seminar will be in Greek.
