Since 1977 the 18th of May is celebrated worldwide as International Museum Day. This day is an occasion to raise awareness on how important museums are in the development of society. Over the last years participation in the celebrations of International Museum Day seems to be breaking all records with more than 30,000 museums from approximately 120 countries joining in the celebrations with the hosting of special events.
The Cyprus National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) announces a list of various events which will take place in Cyprus’ museums, within the framework of International Museum Day under the theme Museums (Memory and Creativity) = Social Change, the following events will take place with free entrance.
