The School of History, Classics and Archaeology at Edinburgh University will host the 2014 annual conference of the British Rock Art Group, which will take place on Saturday 3rd May 2014, at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, Old Medical School (Teviot Place, Edinburgh EH8 9AG). This is the first time the event has been held in Scotland.
The BRAG conference is open to those who are actively researching, engaged with, or interested in rock art. While the focus is on prehistoric rock art in Britain and Atlantic Europe, presentations on rock art from other parts of the world are also welcome.
The Organizing Committee is currently inviting proposals for talks and posters on any aspect of rock art, with special interest in contributions that promote new perspectives, initiatives or fieldwork. While the focus is on prehistoric rock art in Britain and Atlantic Europe, presentations on rock art from other parts of the world are also welcome. Presentations will be grouped into themed sessions when all proposals have been received.
Title and abstract of no more than 200 words, along with the interested participant’s name and affiliation or project (where relevant) for a talk or a poster should be submitted to to Tertia Barnett ([email protected]). Talks should aim to be 15-20 minutes duration and posters should be A1 or A0 size.
Details should be sent by email to Tertia Barnett, specifying whether the interested participant would like to contribute a talk or a poster, and marking ‘BRAG’ in the subject box.
