The Call for Papers for the 2017 Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada has been posted!

The AIA accepts proposals for individual papers, colloquia, posters and workshops on a wide range of topics, including recent fieldwork, ancient art and architecture, cultural heritage issues and digital humanities.

In recent years, an open session has been added, specifically for undergraduates to present their work. Also a lightning session has been introduced, an informal venue for scholars to give 5-minute presentations on their work in progress, so that they can begin to receive feedback on their ideas.

Since the AIA meetings are held jointly with the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) (formerly known as the American Philological Association), the Annual Meeting Committee particularly wants to encourage those who are interested in proposing joint AIA-SCS sessions on topics that might be of interest to members of both organizations.

All proposals are blind vetted by the Program for the Annual Meeting Committee (PAMC), so what matters is not the name or status but the quality of the applicant’s research and his/her ability to express their ideas clearly and coherently.
