On Saturday, June 6, a 30 year old man was arrested on Kalymnos by police officers of the Kalymnos Police Department for the  illegal possession of antiquities.

Following the evaluation of data, an investigation was carried out at the residence of the offender in the presence of a court official, as part of targeted actions of the General Police Directorate of the South Aegean for the protection of cultural heritage. Three intact clay amphorae were found on the premises and confiscated  as well as the upper and lower parts of a clay amphora and a one handled clay prochous (jug).

The confiscated ancient artefacts fall under the protective provisions of Law 3028/02 and were handed over to the appropriate service of the Ministry of Culture for further evaluation and dating.
