The Hellenic Society is offering, on a temporary basis, small hardship grants to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Small grants of up to £200, to be used for academic or professional purposes, will be made to those who:

  1. a) have held a temporary post in a UK HEI in the last 12 months and whose employment has come to an end during 2020;
  2. b) self-funded PGRs, especially those in their third or fourth year;
  3. c) self-funded MA/MPhil/MSt students.

Applicants should email [email protected] with the following details: a brief account of the personal circumstances necessitating the grant, the purpose for which the money is to be used, and the precise sum needed (not more than 300 words in total). They should also include the name of their previous line manager or thesis supervisor as appropriate and ask them to email the same address separately to confirm their personal circumstances in broad terms.

Applications should be received by the following dates: 31 July, 31 August, 30 September, 31 October. They will be dealt with as soon as possible in the month after they are received and monies disbursed by the 15th day of that month.

Please email Dr Fiona Haarer ([email protected]) with any queries.
