The Online Course “Beginners Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs” will take place on Thursday evenings, 6-7:30pm (UK Time), from 12th May-9th June 2022.

This five-week course introduces ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, the language that they write, and the culture they represent.

Egyptian temples and tombs are covered in Egyptian picture-writing. The script contains the ideas, rituals and religious beliefs of the Egyptians for over three thousand years. By the end of the course, you will be able to recognise and understand a basic number of words and what they mean. Begin to unlock the mysteries of the past for yourself!

It is recommended that you have a basic understanding of hieroglyphic signs and transliteration. Homework will not be expected as all will be covered within the weekly 1.5-hour session.
