The Department of Classics and Ancient History at Durham University invites applications for a five-year Postdoctoral Research Assistant position in Ancient Greek Literature, with a particular focus on the writings of Aristotle. The post is funded by UKRI as part of the PI Professor Edith Hall’s project Aristoteles Pezographos: Investigating the Style and Language of Aristotle. This will be a 5-year fixed-term full-time post at Grade 7 (£35,333 – £42,155 per annum). The funding from is available from 1 September 2023 for this fixed period only; the project is time limited and will end on 31 August 2028. The successful applicant will, ideally, be in post by 1st September 2023.

Essential requirements for the post include a PhD in a classical subject relevant to this project. The ideal candidate would have experience in close analysis of classical Greek texts of the fifth to fourth centuries BCE.
