A Postdoc Research Fellow position for Qubbet el-Hawa Research Project and Beni Hassan has been announced by Macquarie University, Australia. In detail, the University’s Department of History and Archaeology seeks to employ a part-time (0.5 FTE) Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a 2-year fixed-term appointment. The Postdoctoral fellow will be
responsible for documenting and analyzing the material culture from the Egyptian sites of Beni Hassan and Qubbet el-Hawa, as part of an ARC-funded Discovery project led by Professors Martin Bommas and Naguib Kanawati.

The appointee will be responsible for identifying all artifacts discovered by previous expeditions to these sites which are housed in international and national museums as well as documenting new finds uncovered by the team during fieldwork.

The ideal postdoc candidate is a highly motivated academic with a Ph.D. in a relevant field, specialized knowledge of Old and Middle Kingdom Egypt, and experience in documenting and analyzing ancient Egyptian material culture and relevant archival material.
