Applications are open for a number of BSA awards for pre-doctoral and doctoral students, and artists. To apply and learn more about the awards, visit the BSA website https://www.bsa.ac.uk/awards/. Application deadline is Friday 16 February 2024.

Awards cover
• One return flight to Greece (up to £250)
• One month’s membership of the British School at Athens, granting full access to all BSA facilities and a museum pass for free access to archaeological sites and museums in Greece.
• Ten days of accommodation in the BSA hostel. (The stay in Greece can be extended at the candidate’s own expense)

Travel Award for Artists: one travel award for UK-based artists (generally defined), whose work is broadly connected to the mission statement of the BSA.

Vronwy Hankey Memorial Travel Award for Pre-Doctoral Students: one travel award for students who have not yet started a doctoral course of study, whose interests are in the prehistory of the Aegean and its connections with the East Mediterranean. Candidates should be studying at or have recently graduated from a UK HEI.

The Hector and Elizabeth Catling Doctoral Award: one scholarship for doctoral scholars studying any aspect of Greece and the Greek world as defined in the BSA’s mission statement. Candidates should be studying at a UK HEI; recently graduated students who have not yet held an academic post are also eligible to apply.
