An Exhibition of Photographs by the photographic clubs from Syros & Naxos will be inaugurated on Friday, June 28, 2013, at 20:00, at the Museum of Marble Crafts in Pirgos, on the island of Tinos. The exhibition is curated by Platon Rivellis and will run from June 28 to July 28, 2013.
In parallel to the exhibition, the fifth of a series of seminars titled «Photography Reviews Seminars», to be held throughout the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation’s Museum Network, under the guidance of well-known photographer, teacher and theoretician of photography, Platon Rivellis, which has a total duration of twelve (12) hours, will take place in the multipurpose hall of the Museum of Marble Crafts in Pirgos, on the island of Tinos, over the two-day period running from June 29-30, 2013 (Saturday & Sunday 11.00-14.00 & 17.00-20.00) and comprises discussions, critical analyses and projections.
The seminar is taught for free and the participants can bring, if they wish, their own photographs for reviews and comments. The proposed, but not exclusive, topic of the photographs is the «every life of a photographer». The subject of these photographs can be home, family, friends, the city or the working environment, everything, in general, which is associated with the personal ground and daily life. In other words, the subject has a form of an optical calendar with a creative perspective.
