These archives are the work of a lifetime. Polydoros Papachristodoulou was a refugee born at Saranta Ecclesies in 1884. In his effort to preserve Thracian traditions he became editor of the first volume of Thracian News which was published by the newly founded “Thracian Centre”. He then founded the “Association for Thracian Studies” and in 1934 he published his own magazine which was supplied with information from what he had in his personal archives. Thirty-three volumes had been published by the time of his death in 1967. A 34th volume was published in 1969 with the title Thracian Archives. The magazine later merged with the Thracian Chronicles.
