The article presents the various activities that can enliven the teaching of History in elementary school. The program was created for children of the 4th Grade. It dealt with the Cycladic civilization and included the following activities: a) an exhibition of pictorial documents, b) the reading of excerpts relevant to the topic from childrens’ books and from foreign travellers’ writings, c) the writing of essays on the topic by the children, d) sculpture with clay and painting. The program was completed by a visit to the National Archaeological Museum. There, the children had the chance to play an educational game of knowledge and observation in the exhibition areas of Cycladic Art.
