The theatre of Dion is located in the area occupied by the sanctuaries outside the town wall. It was constructed of large quantities of earth in the years of Philipp V; its seats are made of big Hellenistic bricks. The theatre displays a spacious orchestra and a coelon so designed as to accomodate a large number of people, since this theater belonged not to a local, but to an important, famous sanctuary.
