Chiltern Open Air Museum is looking to recruit an experienced candidate to review and develop the Museum learning services and to work closely with colleagues to deliver a first class learning experience to our visitors. The Museum has a high quality, award winning, learning service in place covering schools delivery from nursery to further and higher education, informal learning provision and a new interpretation strategy.

The Museum is also delighted to have been recently awarded a Heritage Lottery Your Heritage Grant to enable us to appoint a Community Engagement Officer (part time – 2 years) from January 2013, as part of a project around our rebuilt Victorian earth cottage from Haddenham and this post will be working closely with the Learning Officer.

Chiltern Open Air Museum has a collection of 33 historic buildings, rescued and rebuilt within 45 acres of Chilterns traditional landscape. The site is half a mile in length and incorporates part of the Chiltern Hills. The post will involve a lot of walking around the site to carry out some duties and working outdoors in all weathers. There is no public transport to the site; although there are tube stations nearby with around a 30 minutes walk to the Museum through country lanes.
