James Cook University in Cairns, Australia is looking for a lecturer in archaeology; while the candidate is expected to teach and research Australian Archaeology, they are also looking for candidates with interests in the tropical world, which may intersect with Southeast Asia.

Based in Cairns, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake archaeological research and to collaborate with colleagues on the Townsville campus to teach a range of subjects across both campuses, particularly the archaeology of Australia. The appointee may also be expected to contribute to cross-discipline subjects in the BA/BSocSc, particularly core first year subjects such as BA1001 ‘Time, Truth and the Human Condition’.

Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time on a continuing basis.

Salary: Academic Level B – $84,700 – $99,942 per annum. Commencing salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience.
