The Sociedade Ibérica de Filosofia Grega (SIFG) brings forth the III International Congress of Greek Philosophy in the 20th, 21st and 22nd April 2016, in the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon.

Welcome are all proposals, which address any theme of the domain of ancient philosophy,
namely dealing with one of the following topics: 1) Pre-Socratic thought; 2) Plato; 3) Aristotle; 4) Hellenistic philosophy; 5) Neo-Platonism; 6) projection, influence and reception of ancient philosophy.

The meeting is organised in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, the Group of History of Philosophy of the Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon (HPhil) and the Project of the Annotated Translation of the Complete Works of Aristotle (PTDC/MHC-FIL/3672/2012).

Submission of proposals

Whoever wishes to submit a proposal must send an abstract with the length and features stated below, until the 30th November 2015
The abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee, which will communicate the
accepted proposals until the 15th January 2016. After this date, the authors of the approved proposals must send the papers until the 29th February 2016.
The presentations should have the maximum duration of 20 minutes and may be delivered in any of the Iberian languages or in one of the following languages: French, Italian, English and German.

Guidelines for the submission of abstracts
Until the 30th November 2015, a Word document must be sent to [email protected], with the following information: 1st page: panel in which the proposal is integrated, title of the paper, abstract with circa 500 words.
2nd page: name; email; institutional affiliation, short biographical note (100 words).

Guidelines for the submission of papers
Until the 29th February 2016, a Word document must be sent with the following features:
maximum 15 pages, line spacing 1.5, Times New Roman 12 font, all special characters in
Unicode. All remaining formatting criteria will be communicated at the appropriate time.

Registration
SIFG members: 60 €.
SIFG non-members: 90 €.
Fee payment deadline: 15th February 2016.
The application includes the certificate, the abstracts’ booklet, access to papers, and lunches for the days of the Congress.
