A.G. Leventis Postdoctoral Research Fellowship – Ref: 1563165

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral Fellowship, funded by the
A.G. Leventis Foundation, in the Department of Greek and Latin at UCL.
The Department is a leading international centre for the study of the
ancient world and has a large and active cohort of highly qualified
research students and an outstanding tradition of teaching at both
undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate and have a specialist
research interest in an area of ancient Greek literature and/or culture,
which may include its reception. S/he will be expected to publish
research and to take a lead on departmental conferences in ancient Greek
culture, to undertake related cultural and outreach activities and to
oversee the annual Greek Play performed by the Department’s students. In
addition, the Fellow will undertake teaching. The appointment will
commence from 1 September 2016 and is funded for four years.

Key Requirements

The person appointed will hold a doctorate and have research expertise in ancient Greek literature but must not yet have held a full-time permanent academic post in a UK University or comparable UK institution. The successful applicant will be expected to publish research as well as take a lead on conferences, workshops and outreach activities. In addition, the Fellow will undertake teaching.
