This coming June, the Museum of Cycladic Art is hosting the exhibition “George Condo at Cycladic” where the work of the American artist will be displayed. This is George Condo’s first one man show in Greece.

The exhibition will include paintings, sculptures and drawings spanning 40 years of the artists work and will have an accompanying catalogue.

Condo – along with Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and Jeff Koons contributed decisively to the revival of pictorial painting in America in the 1980’s and is still considered to be one of the most significant American sculptors and pictorial painters of our times.

Works by George Condo are exhibited in permanent collections of museums and cultural institutions, such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Citigroup Art Advisory Service Collection, in New York, The Broad Collection, Los Angeles , Tate Gallery, London, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, Deste Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Athens, Moderna Museet, Stockholm and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam).

“George Condo at Cycladic” is not a chronological description of the artist’s work in the form of a retrospective exhibition, but will focus on highlighting some of his most representative works on the human figure; a central theme in the programme of current exhibitions at the Museum of Cycladic Art.

The exhibition which will be on till October 2018, is curated by Atalanti Martinou.
