CRE 2019 is to be held at Madrid, Spain, conference organizers have announced. 

The Symposium 

The 20th Current Research in Egyptology symposium will take place on 17–21 June 2019 at The University of Alcalá. CRE
is the most important student conference addressing future researchers on the field of Egyptology.
This is the last Call for Papers and Posters for CRE 2019, as the deadline is on  Thursday, December 15th.

What to expect

20-minute presentations and thematic posters may concern –but
are not limited to– the research domains of archaeology, history,
and philology of Egypt and Sudan, and their links to Africa and
the Near East, from prehistoric times to the Byzantine period.
Multidisciplinary approaches are highly encouraged.

Dr Juan Carlos Moreno García (CNRS, Université Paris IV – Sorbonne)

Closing lecture – UAH Paraninfo Chamber, 20th June 2018
A window to two thousand years of history of the Theban necropolis:
the Spanish archaeological mission to Dra Abu el-Naga
Dr José Manuel Galán (Spanish National Research Council,
CSIC-CCHS-ILC, Madrid)

A visit to the National Museum of Archaeology (Egyptian galleries)
and Temple of Debod
The CRE organizing committee has organized a group visit to the
National Museum of Archaeology in Madrid (MAN) and its Egyptian
galleries. The Head of the Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan,
Dr. María del Carmen Pérez Die will offer a talk on the latest
work conducted by the Museum Expedition to Herakleopolis Magna
and the symposium participants will be granted a visit to the
galleries. The committee is also considering a visit to the Temple of Debod
