University assistant – Postdoc
Duration: from 01/09/2019 for 6 years, a qualification agreement can be offered
Organisational unit: University of Innsbruck, Languages and Literatures, Section Greek and Latin Studies
Level of employment: 40 working hours per week.
Main responsibilities: research, including talks and publications, teaching, redaction of the Anzeiger für die Altertumswissenschaften, collaboration in the design and execution of the supplementary exams in the classical languages, collaboration in the design and implementation of curricula, collaboration on university administrative tasks
Mandatory recruitment requirements: above-average PhD in Greek studies (1–2 pages abstract required), pertinent research achievements beyond the dissertation, publications and talks, esp. in Greek studies; experience with the execution of, or collaboration on third party funded projects; experience in academic mobility, excellent didactic abilities, German at level C1 or higher, very good English; draft (c. 5–10 pp.) of a key research focus in the fields of Hellenistic or imperial literature suitable for attaining a state doctorate (“Habilitation”), draft of a didactic concept (including an overview of previous didactic experience in Greek and Latin studies)
Desirable: editorial experience, esp. concerning the publication or editing of academic journals, involvement in the international research community, proof of didactic skills, capacity for teamwork, self-dependence, good communication skills
