This is to inform you that applications are open for 14 fully-funded three-year PhD scholarships at the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, in the PhD track in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage (AMCH): https://www.imtlucca.it/en/programma-dottorato/phd/cognitive-and-cultural-systems/amch.

AMCH aims at training professionals and researchers in the fields of cultural heritage, providing methodologies and know-hows to conduct innovative research across the broad spectrum of these areas. AMCH proposes both research-and practice-oriented courses in Archaeology, Art History, Cultural Heritage and Global Law, Museology, Philosophy, Visual Culture, Management of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Institutions, Technologies applied to the valorization of Cultural Heritage. The AMCH track trains future PhDs for access to both the academia and careers within public and private institutions.

MUSST aims at providing specific methodologies and know-hows to prospective professionals operating in the broad field of museum careers. Based on an institutional partnership between IMT School and some of the most relevant Italian museums and cultural institutions (Museo Egizio di Torino, Galleria Nazionale di Urbino, Museo Nazionale Romano, Parco Archeologico di Pompei, Direzione Generale dei Musei), the track proposes courses on and direct experience of public engagement, cataloguing methods, museum management, museum visitors, provenance. The PhD research project will be carried out by the PhD candidate in the context of the network of the partner museums.
