Those interested are warmly invited to send applications for the English-language master’s program Digital Studies of Ancients Texts (DISTANT) at the Freie Universität of Berlin.

The program is tuition-free.

The interdisciplinary program combines text- and language-related topics from Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Egyptology, and Coptology with computational modelling and digital text analysis.

Applicants should submit proof of English proficiency on a C1 (CEFR) level and have earned at least 25 credit points (ECTS) in one or more of the following languages:
Akkadian, Ancient Egyptian, Coptic, Hittite, Sumerian. Proficiency in German is not a requirement for admission to the master’s degree program.

The application period ends on August 15, 2024.
The winter term starts on October 14, 2024.
