Both in his writings and in his films P.P. Pasolini revives antiquity, approached and interpreted, however, through his personal, Marxist world image, which is essentially different from the narrative form of Hollywood and Cineccita. The major classical works that have attracted his attention, intellect and creativity are “Oedipus the King”, “Oresteia” and “Medea”, not to mention his interest in the phiiosophic-biosofic content and message of Christianity.
